The History of AMSOIL

AMSOIL is a corporation located in Superior Wisconsin. It was my pleasure to visit the facility last year during our 35th Anniversary Convention. I toured the facility and met the executives of AMSOIL including President and CEO - Al Amatuzio.

AMSOIL Inc. was founded by Al Amatuzio, a jet fighter squadron commander who witnessed first hand just what synthetic lubricants did for jet engines. The synthetic oil used in these jet engines had three extraordinary characteristics.

1. An ability to reduce friction and wear on engine components.

2. An ability to function dependably at severe temperature extremes.

3. An ability to withstand rigorous and lengthy engine operation without chemical breakdown.

Al brought these same three benefits into the world of automobile combustion engines and formulated the first synthetic motor oil in the world to meet API service requirements for automobile engines. In 1972 the first can of AMSOIL 10W-40 was produced thereby creating the commercial synthetic lubricant industry. Today there are many companies that produce synthetic motor oil, but AMSOIL was the first and remains the 'Best Oil On Earth'.

Today, AMSOIL produces much more than just motor oil. AMSOIL formulates a wide variety of synthetic lubricant oils for all types of engine and gear applications, including those for specialized vehicles and severe operating conditions. In addition, AMSOIL has developed sophisticated fuel additives, filtration systems and other companion products that supplement and extend lubricant performance. All are distributed through a worldwide network of independent Dealers. (That's me!) This complete line of quality products is recognized by countless private motorists, fleet managers and industrial administrators as the best and most cost-effective choice for increasing engine performance, reducing maintenance and prolonging vehicle and equipment life. Our core products are oil and oil filters for any engine and air filters for most engines. We also have a business relationship with other manufacturers, such as NGK Spark plugs, Mann, WIX and Donaldson filters, Mothers' brand car-care products and most recently Injen air intakes. (I will be blogging on the installation of my own air intake in the coming days). All excellent products that demonstrate superior quality over everything else.
